We welcome you all to our 1st Year Anniversary Celebration which will be held on 3rd June 2022.

THE BIRTH OF GAM

As we celebrate our 1st Anniversary, we indeed have a reason to thank the Lord for what He has done to us. God’s Altar Ministries has countless reasons to praise our Master Jesus.

One of the musicians sang a song and said “count your blessings name them one by one and you will be surprised of how many they are.” If we can start counting the blessings that the Lord has showered us, no software would hold volumes of reports in our hearts.

THE STARTING POINT

God’s Altar Ministries was born on 2nd June 2021 as indicated in about us page. Just a short background, for me, the year 2021 started differently from the other years. After having an encounter with the Lord in June 2020, the Lord called me into a serious walk with Him.

One of the major things that changed in my life is spending time with God in prayer, meditation and reading His Word. God used Apostle John Kimani William (MBCI) to instill discipline in me and realize that spiritual growth doesn’t just happen, it must be initiated.

Due to this, my wife and I joined 21 days of prayer and fasting at the start of the year 2021, after which the Lord called us to continue up to forty days, which we did.

It is after this intense seeking of the Lord that He revealed to me that He brought me in this land (Qatar) to raise an Altar for Him. Just like many other servants of God, I asked the Lord, “Why me and why now?” The Lord said that He was first preparing me for the task.

THE UNFOLDING OF THINGS

It wasn’t easy for me to comprehend this report, due to several reasons. One, I had planned to resign from job and go back home to give enough time to my family after I was away for six years. Two, I always thought that the tough family challenges I faced in the past was a sign that God doesn’t want me in the ministry anymore. Three, by coming here I was literally running away from the ministry!

Just like Moses in Genesis 3-4, when God called him to go and deliver the Israelites, he gave several excuses, but God answered him. I really found myself in adequate and unworthy for this mission. For sure I didn’t fit or deserve this task for so countless reasons.

For all the excuses I gave, God just told me that before He called and commissioned me, He knew what I had gone through and that it was a preparation for this mandate. God’s Altar Ministries therefore is none of my ideas, it originally came from God.

FOUR MONTHS WAITING

When the Lord spoke to me at first, I understood that He wants me to serve Him in foreign land and He will direct us where to go. However, I didn’t have any single details of where and how to get started. We decided to pray and wait for four months as we capture the mind of God in this.

Now, somebody might be wondering, why would we wait four months’ time when God has already spoken? Yes, the Lord had given the vision of what He wants us to do, but we had to seek Him more to know HOW He wants it done. This is where most people fail!

Even after seeking God for four months, we still didn’t feel adequate to start acting until God directed us in the next step. Every step we have taken, we feel more inadequate, and this pushes us in more into prayer to seek God’s will more.

THE NAME

After God directed me what to do, the next challenge was how to get started, how and where to get a name from, who to approach, etc. For the name, one day as I was praying about the task, the altar the Lord wants me to raise for Him, I found myself praying for God’s Altar Ministries, and the name just came to be. I believe it’s the Holy Spirit who put those words in my mouth for God knows every word even before it is out of our mouths (Psalm 139:4).

Although I later found other ministries with a similar name, it is not the same. God knew this ministry even before He gave me a physical body. God knew me before I was in my mother’s womb and chosen me to do this mandate (Jeremiah 1:5; Ephesians 1:4).

IDENTIFYING THE PEOPLE

As per my experience, this was, is and has been the most difficult task. Though to many people this may be the easiest, for me it was the most challenging because of two reasons. One, here we had a fellowship which among others I was leading, so I did not want it to be confused with splitting the fellowship. Secondly, getting people with this ministry at heart.

Am sure you would like to hear I how dealt with each challenge. First, up to 98% of the people I shared with, they understood and supported this noble mandate apart from just a few. The second challenge, it was not easy to identify which people to include in the ministry, but it was made possible by the help of God. God led me to specific people whom I approached and prayerfully we started together. Some who began with us left a long the way and God replaced them with others.

ONLINE SERVICE

As per Lord’s leading, the Lord directed us where to begin services and after prayer the Lord led us to start online services on WhatsApp platform. We started by recording audios and later the Lord led us to start a Facebook page where we started to do live videos recordings

Humble beginnings

In our Online services we have a consistent weekly program which has worked for almost one year now. In these services, we have witnessed souls coming to the knowledge of the Lord. We have received many reports of people who have been touched by the Lord in healing, transformation, etc.

TO THIS FAR IS THE LORD!

THE CHALLENGES

We must admit that in every blessing, there are challenges besides it and in this ministry we have surely seen the hand of the Lord and at the same time we have faced challenges which have made us more strong.

Some of the challenges we have faced include the following: –

1. LISTENING: – This is one of the regular challenges I personally encounter. Since this ministry is founded on the listening and hearing from God, the same way it shall be sustained. Sometimes we find ourselves acting before consulting God. David always inquired from the Lord (1Samuel 23; 30:8; 2Samuel 5:19)

2. BATTLES: – Another challenge that we have encountered is battles from people we so expected will support the ministry. Humanly speaking, I’ve found that the people close to me have become a little resistant of the ministry. This is not new in the Kingdom because even Jesus was not accepted by His own people (Mark 6:1-5)

3. LACK OF COMMITMENT: – This is another challenge we face everyday. Many people want to be identified with success but don’t want to be part of the success making. There are many people who don’t like committing themselves fully to a point of making sacrifices for the Lord. Beside, many people would prefer to be in a fully grown Church than a young one due to obvious reasons. David said that he will never offer sacrifices to God that cost him nothing (2Samuel 24:24).

4. LANGUAGE BARRIER: – In the aspect of reaching out to the lost souls, language barrier is one of the major challenges. We have friends who don’t understand English and at the same time we don’t understand their native language and due to this, we find it difficult to share the gospel.

In conclusion, we have countless reasons to praise God who has brought us this far. As we start the journey in the second year, we can only hold on to the Lord and like Moses cling unto Him for guidance, presence and wisdom. Moses said and I quote, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here” (Exodus 33:15).

    1. Thank you so much Evelyne for your comment. Indeed the Lord is the same yesterday, today and for ever more, so whatever He promised He will do. Continue trusting in Him and He will raise you to another level.
