In my earlier posts, I talked about the operations and the set up of the Kingdom but now in this article I will focus on the grace of dominion. First, when we are talking about Grace it’s important for you to note that everything in the Kingdom is sponsored by grace. Salvation is by grace (Ephesians 2:8), spiritual gifts is about grace, etc.
Dominion is divine God’s will for man on earth (Genesis 1:26). God created man in His own image and likeness and said “let them have dominion over every creature.”
The purpose of mankind here on earth was for them to have dominion.
When we talk about dominion, we are talking about the ability to take charge, to rule or to be in control. The way we are supposed to take dominion is to be able to discover our uniqueness, gifting, and the way we are wired.
When God calls you, he also designs you for that specific purpose. We also must find an area in which we master.
You are not called to do everything under the sun. It’s your responsibility to find out your area of gifting so that you may be effective. It however takes humility, keys and principles in order to know our mandate. As we know God better and dedicate ourselves to grow in spiritually, God will reveal everything clear for us. As the grace of dominion grows in us, the best version of us to fulfill the mandate gets refined in greater extend.
Prerequisites of Dominion
- Knowledge
In Matthew 23:13, Jesus said “woe to you teachers of the law and Pharisees, you shut the Kingdom of God in men faces. You yourselves do not enter.”
How do they shut the Kingdom? They do it by taking away the key of knowledge and they themselves do not enter and do not allow others to enter. Dominion is a privilege in the Kingdom and that’s what Jesus came to restore (Revelation 5:10). Knowledge is however sponsored by grace. When you receive the key of knowledge, you acquire dominion. For example, knowing that something is rightfully yours, it gives you courage and power to claim it. To take dominion, you need grace to help you go for it.
Unfortunately, when some people succeed in doing something, they think it’s by lack or by their own ability. When a King’s son is given a plane, he doesn’t take it as lack because he knows it’s one of his privileges. Once you know your privileges you will go for it by confidence but if you don’t know, you will be doubting every bit of it.
Do not throw away your confidence because it will be greatly rewarded.
2. Service
Luke 19:11-27, read the parable. This is a moving story of servants who were given Minas and were supposed to bring it back with profit. The first servant brought ten more and was entrusted with ten cities. The servant with five minas brought five more and was entrusted with five cities. Then there came the servant with one minus and he brought nothing more instead he accused the master for stinginess and hardness of heart. His master judged him by his words and ordered the one minus he had be taken from him and given to the one with ten.
What do we learn from this parable? Every blessing God gives us is for His service. God doesn’t bless you for selfish gain, it’s for the purpose of service it was not for personal use. Many people once they get success they think that they are helping God and stop being faithful to God.
Grace increases through knowledge and knowledge sponsors service. The key of knowledge releases grace upon your life.
Once you know this is what you are and the privileges then it becomes a key to the service to God in your life. Once you know you are called to pray for the sick and you take a step of faith despite the humble beginning, God will always make a way.
Everything that has life begins from somewhere and grows, John 1:12. We start the journey by being born again by receiving Christ, John 3:3.
3. Spiritual Growth
After you give your life to Jesus Christ, you need to grow in Him. God gives you the sufficient grace and connects you to the right people for mentorship and training. So spiritual growth in the kingdom is not automatic, you have a part to play. You must be available to be taught the word of God and be willing to pray. You can be 30 years in salvation but someone who is one year in salvation with the key of knowledge and knows the privileges, will grow in grace so much such that when you look at him you will think he’s 30 years in salvation. You can’t be effective in your area of gifting unless you are ready to grow.
Once you get knowledge you will grow fast than someone who is religious.
The church is supposed to be full of people who have mastered dominion in their area of gifting. It’s your responsibility to find enough information and training in every area of specialization. That’s why you should enroll for short or long term training to sharpen your skills in the area of your gifting.
Even if you are selling porridge, if it’s your area of interest, God can bless you such that people will be looking for you everywhere you go because you are doing it knowledge.
So it’s important to improve your knowledge in the area of dominion and then pray that God’s grace shall be sufficient such that when people get your services they will just love it. You must endure in your area of dominion no matter what. You must stay there even if there is no sign of growth. When a baby is born, there is that time of growth, failures, hiccups, etc are inevitable at times but that doesn’t mean the baby isn’t growing.
You must master an area for you to have dominion. Some people have started 20 businesses in five years. There must be endurance in what you want to do. Do not give up too soon.
Before you begin to do anything, get full knowledge about it on the will of God. Find the will of God about your life on that area. God’s Kingdom in your area of dominion cannot come if what you are doing is not in accordance to God’s will. The Kingdom of God comes to give you backing of His will.
Knowledge makes you understand God’s perfect will. The Kingdom of God (divine power) gives you divine backup.
4. Endurance
Matthew 11:12, ever since the time of Prophets to the time of John the Baptist, the Kingdom of God suffered violence and the violent shall take it by force. There are many people who water down the bible and faith and it’s upon you to gain knowledge that will enable you stand your ground. You must learn to endure in that area that God has called you to do. Jesus didn’t have a good time even though He was God and was bringing salvation to mankind.
When there is a distress in your place of work may be God is stretching your capacity and capacity is never stretched when there is peace. He has to stretch you in order to bless you but many people disappear when there is problems.
Stay there until God comes. Don’t move until God says you move. Sometimes when a business is distressing you it’s good because it’s making you a thinker. As you think and evaluate different ways you are stretching your knowledge capacity and you are becoming a better person.
When pressure is coming upon you, you need to thank God because that is the way God uses then later He makes them great men in the Kingdom. Even if you have failed many times, don’t worry, you can still make it. Let your enemies not laugh at you because you will rise again.
Conclusion
There are many people who love God but they have have not yet understood the grace of dominion so they have missed their time of manifestation. Once you miss this key key of knowledge you cannot enter the your destiny. In Psalm 103:7, Moses knew the ways of the Lord but the Israelites knew the miracles God performed , they didn’t know the ways of God. Many people grumble before God because they don’t know how God works.
The devil has fought this key of knowledge so much by bringing about wrong doctrines, perversion of God’s word, false prophets, deception, etc. You therefore must have a personal encounter with God because when you know God personally you are going to walk with Him and you will never complain.
We have already seen that grace sponsors the key of knowledge, power to service, growth and endurance. This package gives us a privilege to thrive in the kingdom so that you may live a victorious life.
